Williamstown Rocks! New Activity Launched To Foster Positivity & Fun In The Community

Williamstown NJ has a NEW and FUN activity. Williamstown Rocks was launched today. Here is a segment from the Williamstown Rocks Facebook page. Click Here To Join

“While vacationing in Stuart, Florida this past March, I found a beautifully painted rock with “Martin County Rocks!” written on the back. I googled it and found a community page of thousands of people in Martin County Florida who paint rocks, some with gorgeous art work, some with inspirational messages. They paint them and then hide them in the community. People find the rocks and hide their own. I noticed it fostered a pride in community and positive, fun relationships between neighbors.

I immediately called up my friend, Steph, and we decided we would bring it to Williamstown! So, we’ve painted a few rocks, we put “Williamstown Rocks!” on the back and we are going to hide them! Then we made up this amazing page
to spread joy and brighten people’s day. Come join us! This is a community-building group meant to inspire creativity in all ages and energize people to explore the beautiful area we live in, while having fun and creating positive relationships in our Williamstown community!

All you have to do is find some rocks and some painting supplies and get creative! This is surprisingly fun for ALL ages young and older. Need inspiration? Search “rock painting” on Pinterest or Google Images to find lots of rock painting ideas. Artwork that is PG rated is appreciated as kids love to look for and find the hidden rocks. On the back of your artwork we would love it if you would reference our Facebook group “Williamstown Rocks!” Once you’re done painting your rock, its recommended to seal it before hiding it to protect your art from the elements.

We would love for you to post pictures of your painted rocks before you hide them, or when you find them, but you can participate anonymously if you prefer. If you find a painted rock from our group you can either keep it or re-hide it for someone else to find. If you decide to keep a rock, you are encouraged to hide a new rock somewhere in its place (but this is optional!)

The goal is to get lots of people all across our community painting so that there are lots of rocks to be found out there! You might find yourself rediscovering parts of our community you haven’t appreciated in a while. Get out and ENJOY yourself! Add any of your friends to our group who would be interested in doing this and share the link to this group on your personal FB page.”

This sounds like a fun way to get the Williamstown community creating and moving around outside. Now get out there and find or hide cool painted rocks! Feel free to share any photos of your own creations, hints to where you’ve hidden some, and photos of any rocks found.
